gtranslator is the result of many helping hands, code lines and some times also the result of a too insane human, but well, we won't name anyone here ;-)
Beginning from an ancient awk based non-working code (a very old CVS snapshot from April 2000 is available here for you melancholic or history interested people) it has gone a long way from many stupid crashes, NULL freeing actions towards what it is today: a good working and quite enhanced gettext i18n editor suite wiwht many functions and something like a grewn functionality base -- the features' list has been growing since it's first times in October 1999 into very long dimensions; may it be even much longer!
The authors of gtranslator are/were mainly (many people contributed code, patches and/or stuff for gtranslator; see here for a THANKS! list):
Like said, many people helped, but some aren't even named in the THANKS but were very important for our development of gtranslator: all the people who used http://bugzilla.gnome.org for letting us know where the problematic corners in this dark chamber of multi-K-lines of C code in gtranslator are; thanks to all you bug reporters! You made a big portion of work -- maybe you haven't even recognized this, but you did!
